About DPDN

Welcome to Daawo Peace & Development Network

Daawo Peace and Development Network (DPDN) is an independent recognized non-governmental and non-profit civil society organization centered in the Republic of Somalia with a presence across the regional states. DPDN's main mission is to create capacity and provide sustainable health services to society's most vulnerable and disadvantaged members. On 15th Aug 2007, a group of educated, active, and like-minded individuals working in the development sector came together to form an organization to solve the most pressing and urgent needs of the people in the regional states. In keeping with this philosophy, the organization has been named the Daawo Peace and Development Network (DPDN).

Given their involvement in the development sector, the team was aware of the multiplicity of issues affecting communities living in these regional states. As a result, the organization's concentration was not restricted to region or sector. DPDN has carried out a variety of initiatives in the areas of education, health, water, hygiene and sanitation, youth and women empowerment, disaster response and preparation, governance, and human rights, among others while working in these regional states.

The organization's operations vary from capacity development to service delivery, with an emphasis on the disadvantaged and marginalized sections of society. In terms of operations, what distinguishes DPDN's functioning are its attempts to:

❖ Engage the participation of locals when launching initiativesat the grassroots level; and
❖ Organize youth initiative events like sports, women Empowerment and persons with disability for promoting peace, tolerance, and development in society.

Despite being a relatively young entrant in the development field, DPDN offers a diversified portfolio because of its members' connections with national and international non-profit and financing institutions.
